Size FAQ
Are the sizes that are listed men's or women's sizes? How do I know what size to order?
I have very wide feet...do your shoes come in Wide sizes?
How do I measure my foot to include with my order?
I think I may need to have my shoes custom made, how can I tell for sure?
Question: Are the sizes that are listed men's or women's sizes? How do I know what size to order?
Answer: Our sizes are Unisex.
We don't make 1/2 sizes, due to the adjustability of our shoes.
We size our shoes to the length of the foot.
You would normally be the American size you most commonly purchase.
If you wear a half size, for Ladies you would go down to the full size
(example: ladies size 10 1/2 would wear size 10, 9 1/2 would wear a size 9 etc.).
For Men you would go up to the next size
(example: men size 10 1/2 would wear size 11, 11 1/2 would wear size 12 etc.).
Please check our
size chart
to be sure of a perfect fit.
It is always safest to include foot measurements with your order (highly recommended!).
Question: I have very wide feet ... do your shoes come in Wide sizes?
Answer: Due to the adjustability of our shoes, width is not usually a problem.
It is not necessary to choose a larger shoe size to accommodate a wide foot.
Our shoes adjust to width.
Only if the width of your foot exceeds the measurements on our chart by more than 1/4 inch
would you need to have us custom make your shoes.
It is always a good idea to include foot measurements or foot tracings when you are not sure of size.
Question: How do I measure my foot to include with my order?
Answer: Stand on a ruler, with your weight evenly balanced on your feet,
and measure the length of the foot from the heel to the tip of the longest toe,
and the width of the foot at the widest part.
You can always email us with this information and we will help determine your correct size.
If you are still not sure, or, if you think you may need custom made shoes,
include a tracing of your foot or feet along with your order and snail-mail to us.
Question: I think I may need to have my shoes custom made, how can I tell for sure?
Answer: Include a tracing of your feet along with your order and we can determine if you need custom work.
Question: How do I trace my feet?
Answer: Stand barefoot on a piece of paper,
with your body weight evenly balanced on both your feet.
Have someone trace the foot holding the pen vertically.
Do not use a fat/oversized pen or pencil! Using an oversized pen or pencil will change the size of the tracing and make your (non-returnable) custom shoes too large. Do not look down when they are tracing your foot ... by looking down,
you shift your body weight and change the foot tracing. This tracing is what we use as a pattern to cut your custom sole, please be careful and accurate.
Do both feet if there is a noticeable size difference.
Once you have the tracings of your feet, send them to Medieval Moccasins at the address shown on the bottom of this page. DO NOT FAX OR EMAIL THE TRACINGS. FAX and email distort the tracings and prevent us from giving you the perfect fit you require. Be sure to include your name and order number with the tracings.
There is a $30 fee for Custom Fit.
This is automatically added to the price of the shoe when you select the Custom Fit option.
